Paying per piece suits occasional needs, such as a presentation one month and an invitation the next. Check what happens to unused designs at month end and how many revision rounds each piece includes.
Which files should I receive from the designer?
For digital use, PNG or JPG files in the right sizes are enough; for print you need a high-resolution PDF with bleed. Ask for source files if they were agreed, and ask which fonts were used: some Arabic fonts are paid licences, and you may need your own licence to use them in later designs.
